Jeremiah 29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

Be Still, and Know that I Am God

Psalms 46:10   Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

How's Your Heart

Psalms 4:4   Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.

Do you know your heart? God does! There is no fooling him! All to often we deceive ourselves about our hearts condition! We tend to think we all have good hearts. But, What does God see when he looks on our hearts and he does look on the hearts. The devil wants us to never rest, never be still, to never examine our own hearts. Everything in the world today is all designed to keep us so busy that years pass us by so that we would never can come to to the knowledge of life in Christ.

Proverbs 21:2   Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.

Proverbs 17:3   The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: but the LORD trieth the hearts.

What do you think that means? Is he looking at your heart that pumps blood and oxygen throughout your body. No, But rather the heart of your soul, the essence of your being! It has your mind and your emotions your life or your death! We like to think that we control our hearts but that just is not so. Self examination can put us on the right path towards truth. This is so hard for us humans because our eyes are facing out and we tend to examine those around us and not ourselves. We learn this from a child up, watching others and learning from what we see. Mimicking what we see! The world is the devil's for a time and he knows it. If it were not his then how could he offer it to Jesus in the Temptations.

Luke 4:5   And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

Luke 4:6   And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.

Luke 4:7   If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.

Luke 4:8   And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

I have heard it said that the church has become worldly through the ever changing deceit of the world. The Bible tells us to be separate from the world. So the church is over here and the world is over there. The world moves over a little then the church moves over a little. The world moves over a little more then the church moves over a little more and again and again until the church is where the world was. I ask you is that separate? To the truly saved we are not of this world any longer!

John 17:6   I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.

John 17:7   Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.

John 17:8   For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

John 17:9   I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.

John 17:10   And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.

John 17:11   And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.

John 17:12   While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

John 17:13   And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

John 17:14   I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

John 17:15   I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.

John 17:16   They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

John 17:17   Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

John 17:18   As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.

John 17:19   And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

Sanctified through the Truth! How do we do that? Through his precious Holy Word and His chosen men of God sent to those he calls! They Preach and teach us from the mirror of God's Holy Word to examine ourselves in the light to bring us out of darkness.

2 Peter 1:21   For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

God knows us better than we know ourselves and out of his great love works repentance in us.

2 Corinthians 7:1   Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

2 Corinthians 7:2   Receive us; we have wronged no man, we have corrupted no man, we have defrauded no man.

2 Corinthians 7:3   I speak not this to condemn you: for I have said before, that ye are in our hearts to die and live with you.

2 Corinthians 7:4   Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my glorying of you: I am filled with comfort, I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation.

2 Corinthians 7:5   For, when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side; without were fightings, within were fears.

  2 Corinthians 7:6   Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus;

2 Corinthians 7:7   And not by his coming only, but by the consolation wherewith he was comforted in you, when he told us your earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent mind toward me; so that I rejoiced the more.

2 Corinthians 7:8   For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent, though I did repent: for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season.

2 Corinthians 7:9   Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.

2 Corinthians 7:10   For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance!

2 Peter 3:9   The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

It's time to look in the mirror and come to repentance!

2 Corinthians 13:1   This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.

2 Corinthians 13:2   I told you before, and foretell you, as if I were present, the second time; and being absent now I write to them which heretofore have sinned, and to all other, that, if I come again, I will not spare:

2 Corinthians 13:3   Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, which to you-ward is not weak, but is mighty in you.

2 Corinthians 13:4   For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you.

2 Corinthians 13:5   Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

2 Corinthians 13:6   But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates.

2 Corinthians 13:7   Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates.

2 Corinthians 13:8   For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.

2 Corinthians 13:9   For we are glad, when we are weak, and ye are strong: and this also we wish, even your perfection.

Take a long hard look at truth!

Psalms 139:1   O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me.

Psalms 139:2   Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.

Psalms 139:3   Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.

Psalms 139:4   For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.

Psalms 139:5   Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.

Psalms 139:6   Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.

Psalms 139:7   Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

Psalms 139:8   If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

  Psalms 139:9   If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

Psalms 139:10   Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

Psalms 139:11   If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.

Psalms 139:12   Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

Psalms 139:13   For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.

Psalms 139:14   I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

Psalms 139:15   My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

Psalms 139:16   Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

Psalms 139:17   How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!

Psalms 139:18   If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.

Psalms 139:19   Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men.

Psalms 139:20   For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain.

Psalms 139:21   Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?

Psalms 139:22   I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.

Psalms 139:23   Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:

Psalms 139:24   And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Thank you, you may post your hubs in my comments and I will read them. This looks fine, you can't beat scripture. One I have always pondered over I believe is in Thes> somewhere about after that there would be no more forgiveness, been awhile with no one with an answer so I have forgotten the words but not the feeling, it really touched me to remember whether I had the meaning or not. Maybe it means if His blood is not enough for you there is nothing else or to trod the Son of God underfoot like maybe backsliding?

You title verse is one of my favorites. That small sentence, only 8 words, carries the weight of the world. Especially when I am troubled, by daily cares or my pressing concerns, this passage comes to mind.

Excellent job!

Regardless of where "the church" has moved, and my perception is that this would be the mankind church, the Christian, personally, must stay where The Church began. The church, then, in its worldliness must come to Repentance in order for it to be included in Christ's Church. Life is so easy if we just stay with Him and are immovable when it comes to earthly things.

Thank you for the hub, Captain!!

I am allowing your comment sir but my question to you is, is there any other part of the bible you would like to use? Is it reasonably possible that what has been written here can be cross referenced? Or is it possible this is your argument to defend what you believe whether the proof is in the Bible or not? 2 Tim 3:16,

All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.

Will you now read every scripture given 1John 4:1;

2 Cor. 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly, but powerful by God for overturning strongly entrenched things.

Thank you for sharing God's word. I too love this title. It is a good reminder of how we need to be still so we can hear God. He is there for us even when we can't hear him because of our problems. Peace
